2013 Revitalised Mégane Range

2013 Renault Mégane Wagon - GT Line
Renault has today introduced changes across the entire Mégane range – the brand’s best known and highest selling nameplate in Australia – with the introduction of the revitalised Mégane range.

Since its launch in 2010, more than 2500 Mégane hatches have been sold in Australia making Mégane a pillar model for the brand. Today the Mégane wagon joins the line-up and both vehicles benefit from exciting new specification levels and advanced technologies to aid the driver experience.

The revitalised Mégane range sees the Mégane Hatch launching a new entry level specification – Expression – which now starts with a Recommended Retail Price of just $20,990. The Expression CVT Automatic is just $22,990 – the same price as the outgoing manual model.

2013 Megane Range

Set to appeal to consumers looking for a practical, versatile and stylish vehicle, the new Mégane Wagon range starts at just RRP $26,490 for the Dynamic model, making it one of the best value options on the market today. Packed with comfortable and useful features, the new Mégane Wagon is available in both Dynamique and GT-Line specification. Both the Mégane Hatch and Wagon come with a choice of efficient petrol or hybrid-challenging diesel engines.

The revitalised Mégane range also sees the expansion of the Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet range from one specification level to three. The folding hard-top, automatic Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet now starts with an incredibly sharp new entry level specification and an RRP of just $36,990 – one of the best value folding hard-top on the market today.

For the first time the striking and dynamic Renault Sport designed GT-Line specification is now available on the Mégane Hatch, Wagon and Coupé-Cabriolet – bringing some of the magic of Renault Sport to the wider passenger car range. The GT-Line specifications feature a distinctive front bumper bar design with honeycomb grill and boomerang style LED Daytime Running Lights. The GT-Line is available in a signature Malta Blue colour and features a Renault Sport inspired interior with sport seats and sporty steering wheel design. Along with styling changes, the GT-Line specification changes the chassis set-up on the Mégane Hatch and Wagon for greater driving enjoyment. In both the Mégane Hatch and Wagon the GT-Line specification can also be ordered with the optional Premium Pack.

New interior trims across the Mégane Hatch, Wagon and Coupé-Cabriolet range showcase the quality and comfort of the cabin whilst enhancing the driver’s experience.

Depending on the specification, the Mégane Hatch and new Wagon now come with a rear-view camera with park-assist system linked to the integrated satellite navigation. To further enhance driver comfort, indicators with highway mode are now standard across the range along with an Air Quality Senor, which monitors the quality of the outside air entering the cabin and automatically activates the air recycling mode when necessary.

For the first time in Australia, both the Mégane Hatch and Wagon in the high specification levels will introduce the Renault Visio System. Traditionally seen on high-end vehicles, the Renault Visio System has a dual-functionality combining Lane Departure Warning and Automatic High-Beam Headlights – a beneficial driver aid for everyday driving.

In addition, the revitalised Mégane range continues the roll-out of the new user-friendly radio interface, designed in response to customer feedback and first seen on the Mégane R.S. 265.

Commenting on the launch of the revitalised Mégane range, Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia, said; “It is great pleasure that we can now launch the revitalised Mégane range in Australia. The revised Mégane Hatch and Coupé-Cabriolet along with the new Mégane Wagon are set to become strong contenders in their respective segments and we are confident that we are offering exceptional value to our customers.

“Our new entry level Coupé-Cabriolet delivers the premium sophistication of a folding hardtop at a price normally associated with rag-tops, while the entry price point for the Mégane Hatch shows just how serious we are about continuing our impressive sales growth in Australia.

“The introduction of the GT-Line specification across the range represents a fantastic opportunity for growth in the Mégane family. We are aware that Australian’s love sporty cars and we are delighted to be able to respond to this love by bringing some of the Renault Sport magic to the standard Renault line-up.

“We have already seen a strong demand for the new Mégane Wagon and Mégane GT 220 Sport Wagon and I am confident that the Mégane range will now appeal to more customers than ever before” said Hocevar.

The revitalised Mégane range will go on sale nationally on July 17th, 2013.
