Toyota’s LandCruiser Sahara is for many the true luxury 4WD Wagon. With a long and enviable reputation the Sahara still outperforms most others, but is due for a major overhaul.
Unquestioned 4WD ability, combined with awesome towing capacity, a country Wide dealership network, plenty of aftermarket accessories and huge internal space has seen the Sahara become a favourite of not only the Grey Nomad brigade, but those that tow almost anything.
With a powerful 4.5L V8 diesel engine and low range 4WD the Sahara has the ability to go almost anywhere there is a track and even places there isn’t.
I have to admit that I am a fan of the big beast. It provides a relaxed, pleasant driving experience, is universally practical, it is great for families, outback tourers and true 4WD enthusiasts. It is however expensive at over $125,000, but ironically represents pretty good value for money.
