MINI Australia is pleased to announce the launch of the all-new MINI John Cooper Works three-door hatch in Q2 2025.
The all-new MINI John Cooper Works
Born to race and shaped by passion. The all-new MINI John Cooper Works encompasses the racing pedigree that was born more than six decades ago.
Shortly after the classic Mini was first introduced to the world in 1959, among those captivated by its charm was racing legend John Cooper. He envisioned turning it into a champion racer and fitted it with a more powerful engine, new brakes and sharper steering. This resulted in the modest family vehicle transforming into a giant-slaying race car.
Within a few short years, the Mini Cooper was a globally renowned marque and dominated almost every competition imaginable including the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965 and 1967.
Dynamic underpinnings for go-kart driving fun
The new MINI John Cooper Works offers a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Twin Power Turbo petrol engine with 170kW of power and 380Nm of torque on tap. Paired with the sporty dual clutch automatic transmission. It offers a maximum speed of 250km/h and the capability of achieving 0-100km/h in just 6.1 seconds.
Advanced assistance systems offer peace of mind by supporting the driver in a wide variety of situations.
Twelve ultrasonic sensors and four surround view cameras enable the digital assistance systems to take over recurring driving manoeuvres independently. At higher speeds, it also assists the driver with steering and lane keeping.
Additionally, the newly designed MINI Navigation makes orientation easier thanks to Augmented View. The virtual map offers information such as current traffic situations and parking facilities to enhance the convenience and safety for every journey.
Purist design exuding sporting character
The all-new MINI John Cooper Works showcases large octagonal front grille in high-gloss black that dominates the front view. Functional air inlets with vertical reflectors in red that frame the front-end offer improved aerodynamics and engine temperature control properties.
Optional red or black bonnet strips combined with the MINI LED headlights in the horizontal JCW specific daytime running lights, rear spoiler and centrally positioned tailpipe complete the athletic flair.
The red and black colour scheme typical of JCW is a continuous theme throughout the interior cabin. JCW sport seats with Vescin vegan leather and knitted cord upholstery offer ideal support for dynamic driving. A specific JCW sports steering wheel coupled with shift paddles provides precise handling and added driving fun.
The emotional connection is further enhanced by the new MINI Experience Modes which can be controlled via the toggle bar or 240mm central display unit. The Go-Kart mode transforms the cockpit ambience and provides a racing-focused atmosphere to elevate sporting fun. In this mode, the display provides the driver with key information such as the speed, as well as other performance related data such as power and torque figures and the current g-force.
