Hybrid Technology & Features 2025 TUCSON

2025 TUCSON Hybrid features a range of exclusive technologies and features dedicated to making the Hybrid driving experience engaging and exciting.

Smart Regenerative Braking Mode

The regenerative braking level adjusts automatically when coasting, based on the road gradient, driving conditions, and data from the navigation system and forward camera, to optimally balance kinetic energy recuperation and vehicle momentum.

e-Motion Drive

2025 TUCSON Hybrid features e-Motion Drive, an electric-Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control system.

e-Motion Drive enhances stability and handling by eliminating the inside-wheel slip that can happen due to the weight transfer while cornering, to deliver dynamic driving performance.

e-Dynamic Drive

e-Dynamic Drive enhances performance in 2025 TUCSON through the following functions:

e-Handling: Electrically assisted handling performance

By optimally controlling the response of the drive motor, the system enhances steering operability at the start of a turn, and stability during the end of a turn.

e-Traction
During sharp turns, optimal torque control of the drive motor mitigates understeer before the Traction Control System (TCS) is activated, to maximise stability.

e-EHA: Electric evasive handling assist

Optimal torque control of the drive motor in concert with evasive steering input from the Forward Collision Avoidance system aims to evenly distribute front and rear wheel loads, to the benefit of collision avoidance capability and post-avoidance stability.

e-DTVC: Electric dynamic torque vectoring control

During turns, the system controls the brake on the inner wheel, and the drive motor output, to optimally distribute torque to each wheel for stable cornering performance.

e-Comfort Drive

e-Ride Gen1: Electrically controlled ride comfort Generation 1

Drive motor torque is optimally controlled to minimise front/rear pitching of the vehicle, to maximise occupant comfort.

e-Ride Gen2: Electrically controlled ride Generation 2

The system adjusts drive motor output based on how the driver turns the steering wheel, to ensure smooth and comfortable acceleration.

Auto Terrain Mode (Off-road driving mode) – AWD variants

Auto Terrain Mode utilises artificial intelligence to recognise the road surface in real-time while driving, for optimal driving performance based on road conditions, and enhancing driver convenience. Terrain Mode: SNOW, MUD and SAND.

Baby Mode

Decreases initial acceleration and limits maximum acceleration to enable smooth driving depending on the driving conditions.

In addition, torque differentiation during reverse parking reduces the impact from parking blocks to enhance comfort, especially for young children.

Hybrid Vehicle Display

2025 TUCSON Hybrid presents hybrid-specific information on both the multimedia display and instrument cluster screen.

The cluster features a Charge/Power gauge, battery charge level indicator, and regenerative braking information.

The multimedia unit adds to this with graphs for hybrid fuel economy and electric motor use, and a dynamic infographic indicating whether the system is in electric mode, petrol mode, or whether the battery is being charged.

After-blow system

2025 TUCSON Hybrid features an automatic after-blow function after turning off the air conditioner, to dry the system and prevent the growth of bacteria, which can cause odours.

SAFETY

 Increased body rigidity

2025 TUCSON’s monocoque features high-strength, lightweight construction incorporating hot-stamped components, to maximise torsional rigidity.

The combination of an engine room multi-skeletal structure and reinforced front side members further enhances overall structural integrity.

 2nd Row Pretensioner

2025 TUCSON features second-row pretensioner seat belts that tighten during a collision to firmly restrain occupants, for maximum safety.

SmartSense™ Safety Technologies

2025 TUCSON features a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The extensive Hyundai SmartSense™ suite not only enhances safety but provides exceptional value, to set a new standard for innovation.

Forward Collision-avoidance Assist 1.5 (FCA 1.5)

The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system issues audible and visual warnings if the vehicle ahead suddenly slows, or if it detects the risk of collision with a vehicle, a powered two-wheeler, a pedestrian, or a cyclist.

If the driver does not respond to warnings by taking evasive action, the system automatically assists by applying the brakes.

Featuring in advanced FCA 1.5 form, the system operates across a broad range of driving situations, including:

Junction Turning

With the left indicator activated at an intersection, the system monitors for collision risks with oncoming vehicles in the adjacent lane. If a collision risk is detected while initiating a left turn, the system will issue a warning. If the collision risk increases after the warning, the system will provide automatic braking assistance.

Working speed: 10 – 30km/h.

Target vehicle speed: 30 – 70km/h.

Direct Oncoming

The system monitors for collision risks with oncoming vehicles from the opposite side of the driving path, issuing a warning if a collision risk is detected. If the collision risk increases after the warning, the system will provide automatic braking assistance.

Working speed: 10 – 130km/h.

Oncoming vehicle speed: 10 – 140km/h.

Highway Driving Assist (HDA)

Assists in maintaining the set speed while keeping a safe distance from the vehicle ahead during highway driving. The system also helps the driver keep the vehicle in the centre of the lane while driving on curved roads.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)

When driving without the turn signals activated, the system automatically applies corrective steering input to prevent the vehicle from drifting out of the lane.

Working speed: 60 – 200km/h.

Lane Following Assist (LFA)

Lane Following Assist helps the driver keep the vehicle centred in the lane while driving. The front-view camera recognises lane markings to provide steering assistance. If the system does not detect lane markings, it will use the vehicle ahead as reference to assist with steering for a period of time.

Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA)

If a collision risk is detected in the vehicle’s blind-spot area while initiating a lane change or exiting a parallel parking space, the system will issue a warning. If the collision risk increases after the warning, the system will apply automatic braking assistance.

First warning: side mirror warning indicator & cluster. Working speed: 20 – 255km/h.

Second warning: side mirror indicator, cluster, audible warning & steering assist. Working speed: 40 – 255km/h.

Safe Exit Warning (SEW)

If a vehicle is approaching or within 2025 TUCSON’s blind-spot area while parked, the system will keep the doors locked and warn occupants to check their surroundings.

Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA)

Provides audible and visual warnings when the vehicle exceeds the detected speed limit. In addition, ISLA can assist in updating the Smart Cruise Control set speed to the posted speed limit when a speed limit change is detected.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW)

Analyses the driver’s attention level to audibly and visually warn them if the system senses they are inattentive.

In addition, the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA) function provides audible and visual alerts to the driver in the event they did not notice the vehicle ahead driving away.

Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)

Presents the driver with live video of the left and right blind spot areas when the corresponding turn signal is activated. Compared with conventional side mirrors, BVM provides a viewing angle that is approximately twice as large.

High Beam Assist (HBA)

Allows the vehicle to automatically activate the high beam headlights dependent on the level of ambient light and general illuminance, to improve visibility.

HBA will automatically switch to low beam when it detects the headlights of an oncoming car, or the taillights of a vehicle in front, to avoid dazzling other road users.

Working speed: 30 – 200km/h.

Smart Cruise Control (SCC)

Smart Cruise Control maintains a safe distance from the vehicle ahead while driving at a speed set by the driver, with the capability to automatically come to a stop, and then accelerate back to the set speed when required.

Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC)

Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control assists by maintaining a safe speed on highways and motorways to suit the road conditions and curves ahead. The system recognises the vehicle ahead with the front-view camera and front radar and determines the safe speed range using the navigation system.

Rear View Monitor (RVM)

Displays a camera view behind the vehicle while driving and parking, as well as providing parking guidelines and a rear top view for parking and trailer hooking.

Surround View Monitor (SVM)

Surround View Monitor displays multiple views of 2025 TUCSON to assist with maneuvering, parking and driving. These include 360-degree view, 3D view and top view with tailgate guidelines, as well as car wash entering mode, trailer connection mode, driving rear-view mode and more, all designed to maximise driver confidence and convenience.

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)

The Rear Occupant Alert system provides warnings to prevent the unintentional locking in or leaving behind of children or pets in 2025 TUCSON.

When active, the system detects the entry of occupants from the opening and closing of the rear doors. Upon parking and opening the driver’s door, ROA issues a warning chime and prompts the driver with a message to ‘Check rear seats’, to ensure rear occupants are not inadvertently left behind.

The entry TUCSON features a Logic type ROA, while Elite and Premium variants feature a radar sensor type ROA.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance (RCCA)

When reversing at low speeds, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance assist warns the driver when there is a risk of collision with a vehicle approaching from the left or right. If the risk of collision increases after the warning, the system will automatically apply the brakes.

Parking Distance Warning (PDW F/S/R)

The Parking Distance Warning system alerts the driver to the presence of pedestrians or objects around the vehicle to help prevent a collision during low-speed driving.

In addition to front and rear sensors, the system now features side parking sensors and a side guidance display in every variant.

Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance (PCA-R)

Parking Collision-avoidance Assist-Reverse warns the driver if there is the risk of collision with a pedestrian or object while reversing into or out of a parking space, and will assist with emergency braking if necessary to avoid a collision.
