Toyota RAV4 5 star ANCAP safety rating

2013 Toyota RAV4 Cruiser
ANCAP today released a 5 star ANCAP safety rating for the new Toyota RAV4.

The RAV4 is equipped with dual frontal, side chest and side head (curtain) airbags, and a driver knee airbag as standard. Seat belt reminders are also present for all seats. All variants of the fourth-generation RAV4 have been awarded the maximum 5 star ANCAP safety rating.

Additional safety technologies are also on offer for some variants including adaptive front lighting, blind spot monitoring, daytime running lights and reversing camera.

“The RAV4 will be competing in a very competitive segment of the market and its 5 star ANCAP safety rating brings it to a new level in terms safety,” said ANCAP Chief Executive Officer, Mr Nicholas Clarke.

High sales are anticipated for the new 5 star RAV4 which will no doubt bolster the already high percentage of SUVs (66% of sales YTD) which hold the top ANCAP safety rating.

“This means more and more motorists will be driving in 5 star safety,” said Mr Clarke. ANCAP is supported by all Australian and New Zealand motoring clubs, the Australian Government, the New Zealand Government, Australian state and territory governments, the Victorian Transport Accident Commission, NRMA Insurance and the FIA Foundation.
