Fiat Chrysler Group in Australia has broadened the appeal of Chrysler’s flagship 300 sedan with the introduction of a new 300S model, which offers a host of sports enhancements that deliver a low-key street presence with plenty of attitude.
With its dramatic styling, premium features and world-class technological innovations, the Chrysler 300 has struck a chord with customers all around the world since it was first released in 2005.
The new 300S takes the premier Chrysler’s “Imported from Detroit” style a step further, boasting an array of tough, yet sophisticated exterior and interior appointments that set it apart from the crowd, while continuing to deliver world-class refinement and grand-touring performance.
On the outside, the 300S features new 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels with the same Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tyres as the premium SRT8 models, a black chrome grille with platinum surround, black headlamp bezels, body coloured door handles and side view mirrors, a boot lip spoiler and black-accented ‘300S’ and ‘Chrysler’ badging.
The interior of the new 300S exudes an athletic-luxury theme and has been enhanced with the use of a Piano Black finish on the centre console, steering wheel and door panels, along with sports pedals and heated sports front seats, which are available as a no cost option in striking red leather trim with contrast white stitching and embroidered ‘S’ logos.
Completing the enthusiast-designed interior are matte carbon hydrographic-finished accents, which replace the traditional burl wood found in the 300C.
“Demand for Chrysler’s 300 range has never been greater, with sales of the second generation model outpacing even the original 300’s first full year on the market, currently up by more than 36 per cent on the 2006 benchmark,” said Veronica Johns, President & CEO of Fiat Chrysler Group in Australia.
“We expect the arrival of the new 300S to bolster that popularity with a stronger, more overt representation of the ‘Imported from Detroit’ style, which is exactly what customers love about the 300 sedan.”
Powered by the three-time Ward’s 10 Best Engines-winning 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine, which produces 210 kW of power and 340 Nm of torque and is matched to a class-leading ZF eight-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, the 300S has the performance and refinement to match its powerful styling and extensive equipment list.
In addition to the suite of unique ‘S’ features, the 300S is also fitted with Chrysler’s acclaimed Uconnect 8.4-inch touch screen display incorporating navigation and reversing camera, bi-xenon headlamps with auto high beam control, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, heated and cooled front cupholders, a memory system for the driver’s seat, exterior mirrors, steering column and radio, as well as heated rear seats.
Available for a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price of $47,500*, the 300S is positioned in middle of the 300 line-up with a perfect blend of sports performance, style, sophistication and luxury. The expanded Chrysler 300 line-up now includes the 300 Limited, 300C, 300S, 300C Luxury, 300 SRT8 Core and 300 SRT8.
