All new Audi Q3 – Five things you need to know

Audi Q3 35 TFSI 110 12 ExteriorAudi has just launched the all new Q3 35 TFSI S tronic last week and there are a few things you need to know when looking at this model

What size difference is there from the old model?

The vehicle itself is better looking than the last model and is a little longer in overall length and wheelbase as well as a little wider, yet not quite as tall. It looks squatter and more purposeful than before.

The differences are – Length 4485 millimetres (+ 97), wheelbase 2680 millimetres (+ 77), width 1849 millimetres (+ 18), height 1585 millimetres (- 5)

Inside it’s a comfortable place with typical Audi technology and advanced connectivity. The optional seat package is excellent as are most driver ergonomics. The larger size in effect this means more internal room for both front and rear passengers.

The rear seats can be moved fore/aft by 150 millimetres, along with an angle adjustable backrest and 4-/20/40 fold flat availability. This means the luggage compartment has a capacity of 530 to 1525 litres, electric tailgate operated by foot movement available

What about connectivity, infotainment and navigation

The Q3 is packed with the latest technology from Audi. Specific examples include the digital instrument cluster with a configurable 10.25-inch instrument screen. Centre screen is a MMI touch display in 10.1-inch format.

For infotainment and Audi connect you get LTE Advanced and Wi-Fi hotspot, Google Earth, hybrid radio (swapping between DAB and normal) as well as onboard dual voice control system.

For owners there is the myAudi app for a seamless connection between car and smartphone and for the audiophiles there is an optional Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System with 15 speakers and virtual 3D sound available.

What engines and drivetrains are available?

The Audi is Audi Q3 35 TFSI S tronic has been launched as a 2WD version only initially, with a Quattro version coming in mid-2020 along with other engines and a hotter version.

Let’s have a look at what it has got.

This combination provides reasonable performance and easy driving with the low torque delivery as well as reasonable economy at a ADR combined figure of 7.2L/100K . The Q3 will go from 0-100km/h in 9.3 seconds and top out at 207km/h

What does it include as standard?

In addition to the key technology and driver assistance features, the new Q3 comes equipped with a generous level of equipment, including: – 18-inch alloy wheels – Convenience key keyless entry and start – Electric tailgate including gesture control – Two-zone climate control – Leather-appointed seat upholstery – Ambient interior LED lighting package – Contrasting lower metallic paint finish in Manhattan grey

Comfort and Style option packages are also available.

In addition, a special Launch Edition is available at market launch and for a while, I would say until the model line-up fills out in mid-2020. Launch Edition includes additional equipment highlights like 19-inch alloy wheels, metallic paint, privacy glass, folding exterior mirrors, high-output Audi sound system, auto dimming interior mirror, electric front seats with electric lumbar support, heated front seats, a 360-degree parking camera, as well as Adaptive cruise assist, with emergency assist.
