Audi A3 35 TFSI – Audi recently launched the new A3 model in both sedan and Sportback styling. This week we drove the entry level 35 TFSI model priced from around $46,900 plus the usual costs.
Around town the 1.5L petrol engine was zippy and fun to drive and gave excellent with its front wheel drive with a 7 speed DCT that felt smooth.
Inside it’s typically Audi, comfortable, well laid out and practical. The leather seats and steering wheel, Audi virtual cockpit and wireless Apple Car Play connectivity all made for ease of diving.
The car I drove had the comfort option pack for $2,600 that included amongst a long list, electric heated front seats, welcome on the cold mornings and adaptive cruise control.
The Sportback design is practical with a large boot area, split fold down rear seats and high opening tailgate. It made taking gear for work easy and swallowed it with ease.
Little things like great windscreen washers, bright LED headlights, keyless entry, split zone air conditioning all add to the everyday comfort.
A3 also has a five star ANCAP safety rating and a five year warranty and a comprehensive Audi five-year service plan package, priced at $2,250
