BMW M6 Australian pricing

BMW M6

BMW Group Australia has finalised pricing and specification for the new BMW M6 ahead of its Australian launch this month, confirming the arrival of the Competition Package as a standard inclusion on all variants.

Starting from $292,600 for the new BMW M6 Coupe, the mid-cycle update of the premium sports performance tourer fuses the Bavarian marque’s motor racing heritage, with the luxurious ambience inherent to models carrying the BMW 6 Series name plate.

The new BMW M6 Gran Coupe starts at $299,600, while the new BMW M6 Convertible is on-sale from $308,600.

BMW Group Australia Head of Product and Market Planning, Shawn Ticehurst, hailed the arrival of the new BMW M6, lauding its improved performance, and premium character.

“The BMW M6 is an enduring concept, which delivers remarkable performance, elements which are enhanced in the latest model,” Ticehurst said.

“The inclusion of the Competition Package as standard provides further recognition of the BMW M6 as one of the flagship performance vehicles of our range, improving its sporting capabilities, and providing a more dramatic appearance.

“A subtle refining of both the interior and exterior meanwhile, combined with an increased list of standard specification, including Digital Radio DAB+ and a selection of BMW Individual paints, reaffirms the BMW M6’s status as one of the leading luxury performance automobiles in its segment.”

Further enhancing the performance characteristics of the new BMW M6 Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe, the Competition Package boosts the output of the high-revving V8 engine by 29kW to 441kW.

The increase in power manifests itself in the new BMW M6’s acceleration figures, with the M Competition package helping propel the car from 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds in hard-top form, and 4.0 seconds with the drop-top, shaving a tenth of a second from the performance time of its predecessor.

Peak torque is boosted to 700Nm, a 20Nm increase over the previous model, and is available across a wide rev band from 1,500rpm to 6,000rpm.

Modified suspension, damping and stabiliser set-up meanwhile offer enhanced traction, while control settings for the Active M differential can be optimised on the rear axle, refining the new BMW M6’s cornering ability.

The dynamic driving characteristics of the new BMW M6 are further amplified by a revised M Dynamic Mode, while the models also receive a more direct rack-and-pinion steering set-up with M-specific Servotronic function.

Exclusive 20-inch M light alloy wheels, and a sports exhaust system with signature M black chrome twin tailpipes generating an evocative soundtrack, and a striking road presence.

With personalisation inherent to the notion of luxury, customers will have a choice between four BMW Individual paints as standard – Citrin Black, Ruby Black, Moonstone and Tanzanite Blue, while DAB+ Digital Radio and Tyre Pressure Monitor boost functionality, heightening the user experience.

A reinvigorated interior boasts full leather Merino upholstery with distinctive contrast stitching, with a broad suite of colours available, a high-gloss black centre console, and a revised, frameless central information display, seamlessly integrated into the dashboard.

The new BMW M6 also benefits from the full-suite of BMW ConnectedDrive features including Concierge Service and Real Time Traffic Information as standard, and a full-colour M-specific BMW Head-Up Display places driver safety at the fore, while generating an immersive driving experience.

All maintenance requirements for the new BMW M6 range will be controlled by BMW’s Condition Based Service (CBS) program, which identifies the condition of a vehicle based on actual use, ensuring each BMW is always in first rate running order, and at the same time, minimising costs.

Under the CBS system, sensors and advanced algorithms monitor and calculate the conditions in which the vehicle is used including mileage, time elapsed since the last service, fuel consumption and how the vehicle is driven. The information captured is used to determine the vehicle’s maintenance requirements, identifying that either an annual vehicle inspection or an oil service is due.

In addition, BMW service and selected maintenance costs can now be covered by a single, one-off advance payment with BMW Service Inclusive (BSI). BSI offers two packages: BMW Service Inclusive Basic provides scheduled servicing cover, while BMW Service Inclusive Plus combines scheduled servicing and selected maintenance items. Based on individual lifestyle needs, a year range and kilometre option is selected, starting from three years/60,000kms. The BSI plan provides a long-term solution enabling cover to be extended and transferred to future vehicle owners before expiry.
