“We’re thrilled to announce a series of updates to the upcoming MY24 C8 Corvette, additions which will make an already phenomenal performance vehicle all the more outstanding,” said Greg Rowe, Director of GMSV.

“Included in this exciting news is more information about the sensational new Z06, a rear-wheel drive, mid-engine Supercar. Manufactured right-hand drive and featuring an exquisite power plant. Hand assembled by a master engine builder at the home of Corvette, the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.”

MY24 C8 Corvette Stingray

The new MY24 C8 Corvette will be available with a number of enhancements which add to the safety credentials as well as the visual appeal of one of the most popular two-seat sports cars available.

New safety features include:

From an aesthetics perspective, the rear of the MY24 will be distinguishable from the current model courtesy of a new Z51 spoiler design*.

Two new five-split spoke wheel options will be available, consisting of a Satin Graphite with Machined Edge or Bright Machined.

Three new exterior colours are available on the updated model year, including Cacti Green, Riptide Blue and Sea Wolf Gray, with Carbon Flash now a regular colour on all models.

From the cockpit, new Driver Model Selector animations make an appearance on the large, driver oriented info screen.

New engine appearance

A new engine appearance package is available with the Convertible and a lighting option is reinstated for the 2LT. A lighting option and carbon fibre close out panels are available on the 3LT.

Additional visual cues include a wider, full length Carbon Flash stripe design with five new colour options: Silver, Red, Blue, Yellow and Orange.

Rounding out the updates is a new ‘frunk’ (front trunk) power soft close latch.

Customer deliveries for the new MY24 C8 Corvette will commence in Q4 and, as part of model year changes, the RRP will increase $5,000 across the range.

MY24 Corvette Z06

The first MY24 Corvette Z06 are anticipated to arrive in GMSV showrooms in Australia and New Zealand late this year. Customers can contact their local dealer to be added to current waitlists.

The Corvette Z06 features a naturally aspirated LT6 5.5L DOHC V8 engine with an all-new flat-plane crankshaft design which allows the engine to rev to 8,600 rpm.  It is capable of producing 475kW of power and 595Nm of torque and, when combined with the Z07 Performance Package, is capable of 1.22g of road hugging grip in track prepared configuration.

Stopping prowess is provided by large 14.6-inch-diameter (370mm) front and 15-inch diameter (380mm) rear Brembo® rotors.  The Z06 has six-piston front callipers compared to four-piston callipers on the Stingray.

A shorter 5.56 final drive ratio is a characteristic of the Z06, and power is delivered to the ground via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Specific Suspension tune

A unique Z06-specific suspension tuning is a standard feature of the new model, complemented by Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 (FE6).

The largest wheels ever available on a production Corvette, 20-inch forged aluminium ‘Spider’ wheels at the front and 21-inch at the rear, provide surefooted grip.

All Z06 available via the GMSV network will come specified with the 3LZ trim, coupe as standard, which includes a steering wheel beautified with carbon fibre, shift paddles made from carbon fibre, sueded microfibre on the upper interior trim, leather-wrapped interior door panels and instrument panel, as well as GT2 bucket seats with Napa leather upholstery and carbon fibre garnish.

An optional Z07 Performance Pack is also available, featuring the addition of larger brakes with carbon ceramic rotors; carbon fibre aerodynamic elements including air strikes, larger front splitter, front dive planes and carbon fibre high wing spoiler; unique suspension tuning; ultra-performance tyres; and carbon fibre wheels.

“Due to incredible global demand, the Corvette Z06 is a measured volume proposition, in keeping with its exclusive nature, availability will be very controlled,” said Mr Rowe.

“We appreciate this may disappoint many performance enthusiasts, but at the same time it will ensure those who do become a Z06 owner will know they possess a very special piece of automotive folklore.”

Corvette E-Ray

GMSV has previously confirmed that Australia and New Zealand will be part of the upcoming Corvette E-Ray programme.

The innovative model is the first electrified Corvette and will feature an e-AWD system that works in tandem with its LT2 V8 engine to give it the fastest 0 to 100kmh time ever for this legendary nameplate.

E-Ray features a host of functional design elements, adding wider fenders, quarter panels and fascias. The result is a sleek, sculpted presence with a number of aerodynamic and performance benefits.  More information about the Corvette E-Ray will be available in 2024.

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray details June 2022 update

Corvette is a model name that has been synonymous with American muscle cars for many years. MY2023 right-hand-drive C8 Corvette, is brought to Australia by GMSV (General Motors Specialty Vehicles).

“The response to the C8 Corvette has been unheralded, not just in Australia and New Zealand, but right around the world,” said Joanne Stogiannis, Director of GMSV.

“This overwhelming international demand for the C8, along with added complexity of being the first-ever factory-manufactured right-hand-drive model, meant we needed to pre-set our launch allocation of customer vehicles.

“However, with our latest MY23 allocation, we are able to offer customers the ability to personalise their orders further. Resulting in a more bespoke ordering process.

“Providing customers an improved level of personalisation was a key focus for us. With this allocation as well as news that we are providing smaller, more frequent, Dealer allocations at this time.

“This will mean there is greater visibility on production timing along with the opportunity for customers to personalise elements of their vehicle.”

MY23 content includes

The new MY23 content includes three new wheel options, black exhaust tips and a striking new blackout interior trim.  A brand new, ‘Adrenaline Red’ full dipped interior is also available.

With customers now having the ability to change some of the options specified on their vehicle, they have a choice in exterior paint colour, decals, brake calliper colour, exhaust tip option, seat belt colour as well as interior trim colour.

“C8 Corvette is a vehicle which elicits a huge amount of passion and excitement amongst owners and fans,” said Ms Stogiannis.

“It is a very dramatic car, full of character and personality, and now with the possibility of making changes to certain features we are providing new owners with the opportunity to make their Corvette their own, to a greater extent than has been possible before.

“We’re proud to be able to deliver this chance to our new C8 owners and am sure they will take pleasure in finessing some of the finer details relating to their new Corvette.”

Shipping of the MY23 C8 Corvette is anticipated to commence Q4 of this year.
