Citroen C4 Shine 2022 Radio Review

We drive the Citroën C4 on a road test review

Citroën C4  –  In amongst the run of SUVs and Utes lately I had the opportunity to jump back into a Citroën C4.

2022 Citroen C4 parked in town

Let me say that the immediate reaction after driving up the freeway is – what a fun little car this is.

More a crossover hatchback than a SUV the C4 Citroën a stylish, well-appointed and well-priced alternative to the more expensive European brands.

The little 1.2L engine gives off a raspy exhaust note, is quite zippy around town and more than capable of comfortable open road cruising. There is also a three mode drive select function.

It comes with an 8 speed sports AT and is very economical at around 6.5L/100K on our week long test.

Complementing the engine is a smooth hydraulic suspension that simply glides along on the freeway and around town it does its best to soak up road bumps and more.

With a premium interior, quilted heated leather seats, with massage function, innovative electronic transmission lever and excellent HUD. The driver feels cocooned at all times.

Priced from only $37,990 the Citroen C4 pushes design boundaries against some of the bland offerings available from MB and BMW.

If you are looking for something just a little different to compliment your personality then perhaps the Citroën C4 is for you

Some more Citroën C4 Shine Thoughts

We have reviewed the C4 Shine a few times and the links are above but here are some more recent thoughts.

  • C4 looks really good, its perhaps one of the most attractive smaller crossover style vehicles on the market,
  • With a raspy exhaust note its really fun to drive,
  • People will look at you when you drive it,
  • This is an ideal vehicle for a young couple that want a bit of flair,
  • Compared to the bland offering from the likes of Mercedes Benz and BMW its a knockout design,
  • The front seats are perhaps the most comfortable in class,
  • There is plenty of handy storage inside with twin trays but sadly no charging tray,
  • A large glove box is handy as is the slide out multi media tray for tablets etc.
  • Apple car play is by USC connection only, no wireless.
  • For the price you get a lot of features,
  • Headlights are excellent, auto high beam has spot on calibration and they give a long and wide beam,

  • Surprisingly there is plenty of room in the rear seats and the boot is spacious and practical,
  • The drivers instruments are good but the Peugeot 2008GT would be better.
  • Steering feel is light but speed centric which means that the faster you go the more responsive it is,
