2013 Fiat Freemont
On sale now with prices starting from just $27,000 driveaway, the new Fiat Freemont brings superior design, comfort and flexibility within reach for Australian families.

The Fiat Freemont is available in three specification levels – Base, Urban and Lounge – powered by either a 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine or fuel-sipping 2.0-litre four-cylinder MultiJet II diesel.

Both engines drive the front wheels via either a six-speed automatic transmission (petrol engine) or a six-speed manual (diesel engine) and have been produced and developed by Fiat Powertrain.

The 2.4-litre petrol engine produces 125 kW at 6,000 rpm and 220Nm at 4,500 rpm while the diesel engine achieves 125 kw at 4,000 rpm and 350 Nm at 1,750 – 2,500 rpm.

The Fiat Freemont diesel starts at just $32,600 making it Australia’s most affordable 4X2 mid-size SUV.

The Fiat Freemont mid-size SUV comes standard with a five-seat layout and boasts a massive, family-friendly cargo space of up to 1,461-litres.

A seven-seat configuration is available as an option, which adds triple-zone climate control. When the seven-seat option is added to the list price of the vehicle ($1,500), the Fiat Freemont introduces a new benchmark price in the mid-sized seven-seat SUV segment.

Standard equipment levels are impressive when compared to competitors and reinforce the strong value-for-money equation of the Fiat Freemont.

Standard features across the range include Uconnect phone with Bluetooth audio streaming, keyless entry and start, child-booster seats, rear-parking sensors, USB & AUX inputs, automatic headlights, auto-tint rearview mirror, active front headrests, alarm with anti-intrusion system and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Mid-range Fiat Freemont ‘Urban’ adds extras including a large-screen (8.4-inch) Uconnect infotainment system which includes a DVD player, dual-zone automatic temperature control, six-way electronic adjustment for the drivers’ seat, a leather-wrapped gear-lever and Sunscreen glass.

Fiat Freemont’s options list includes the ‘Flexible Seating Group’ (7 seats), a power sunroof and ‘Rear Seat Video Group’ (second row overhead screen and wireless headphones.

The Fiat Freemont boasts superior levels of interior comfort, convenience and flexibility with practical features ensuring an enjoyable journey for all occupants. A new three-stage hinge on the rear doors – which open out to 90º – provides easier access to the rear seats, particularly where the third row of seats has been added. The second row of seats can slide forward by up to 10 cm from their rear most position, providing parents with easy access to children sitting in the second row, while all seats – including the front passenger seat – can be folded down to create a flat and even load area.

With built-in booster seats for children fitted as standard, parents can rest assured that their children are seated correctly. Add to this theatre-style seating in Freemont models fitted with seven-seats to ensure maximum visibility, and no less than 20 storage compartments, the Fiat Freemont provides all the comfort a family could need and more.

The launch of the Freemont kicks-off a new model onslaught for Fiat, Italy’s number one automaker. The stylish Panda and Punto models will both arrive in Australia later this year, following an expansion to the Fiat 500 range in June.
