First-ever, all-hybrid Mazda CX-80 opens the door to family discoveries and unscripted conversations

Mazda Australia and the CHEP Network have partnered to create a heartwarming and memorable advertising campaign for the local release of the First-Ever, All-Hybrid Mazda CX-80.

A 30-second TV advert filmed from inside a Mazda CX-80 Azami SP captures the unique joy of the various exchanges that unfold during a Sydney family’s car rides together, highlighting the three-row SUV as the ideal space ‘For Family Discoveries’.

Capturing the uniqueness of family conversations required an innovative approach, counter intuitive to traditional campaign production: no scripts and no actors. Instead, a genuine family of five were selected following their interest at an open casting call and their on-screen interactions were completely natural and uninhibited.

The resulting dialogue will resonate with families whose daily conversations similarly traverse varied ground, entering the memory bank with surprising and delightful anecdotes that flow as freely as the roads ahead.

Mazda Australia and CHEP Network

Mazda Australia’s National Brand Manager, Ashlin Moore, led the campaign’s development in close collaboration with CHEP Network, and spearheaded the original idea following time spent in the car with her own young children.

Moore commented: “Whether it’s an interstate road-trip, or the morning school drop-off, being in the car with your loved ones is a time where you can be free of distractions. Creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that invites connection and openness, but also a feeling of togetherness, is a real strong suit of the Mazda CX-80.”

Offering ample space for up to seven passengers with impressive shoulder, hip and legroom and top tethers fitted to both the second and third rows, the Mazda CX-80 also ensures comfort and convenience that extends all the way to rear occupants thanks to air vents in the third row, multiple cupholders and easily accessible USB-C sockets.

A removable load cover can be stored under the boot floor, which also opens up additional storage space to equip the Mazda CX-80 with 258 litres when fully occupied, 566 litres with the third row folded, and a capacious 1,971 litres of cargo capacity when both rear rows are stowed.

CX-80: For Family Discoveries

The ‘For Family Discoveries’ campaign is now live across multiple platforms including TV, Broadcaster Video on Demand (BVOD), and in Mazda dealerships across Australia, and Out of Home (OOH) from mid-November.

The seven-seat, All-Hybrid Mazda CX-80 is available to order now, priced from $54,950 MLP. It can be specified in Pure, Touring, GT or Azami model grades, with an optional SP Package reserved for Azami models that adds to the luxury with two separate ventilated captain’s seats for the second row, tan Nappa leather interior upholstery, a suede finish dashboard panel, two-tone steering wheel and middle console with extra storage.
