Genesis G70 2.0T Radio Review

Gensis G70 2.0T Ultimate

Genesis is a new name to Australia being the luxury arm of Hyundai the same as Lexus is to Toyota. However the premium sedan segment has seen declining sales of late so the question is how it will go. Rob Fraser takes up the story.

I recently tested the first generation G70 Sport sedan that is powered by a 2.0L turbo petrol engine, driving the rear wheels through an eight speed auto transmission.

At a touch over $63,000 plus the usual costs the G70 2.0T comes equipped with Australian tuned suspension, seven airbags, a suite of advanced driver assistance systems, Genesis Connected Services, a Smart Boot, 12-way powered and heated front seats, tyre pressure monitoring, an 8.0-inch multimedia unit, dual-zone climate control, and wireless phone charging.

Sport versions add a Brembo brake package, 19-inch alloys and Michelin high-performance tyres, a mechanical limited-slip differential, plus Sport styling features.

The Genesis G70 2.0T Sport is a good sedan, but with the continuing swing towards SUVs will it sell in decent numbers. Time will tell.
