Genesis GV80 2025 Details 

2025 GV80 ushers in a suite of new technologies, including an array of safety and convenience features, and refreshed styling that continues to embody the Genesis Athletic Elegance design philosophy.

The overwhelming popularity of the 3.5T AWD powertrain and optional Luxury Pack have seen both become standard across the 2025 GV80 range.

The Luxury Pack was previously chosen by the majority of customers, who were seeking the ultimate luxury experience, with an up take of 95 percent.

2025 GV80 SUV is available with either a 7-seat cabin or an optional 6-seat layout, which gives second-row occupants individual captain’s chairs. The athletic and audacious GV80 Coupe is available as a 5-seater.

An expanded selection of customisation and personalisation options for 2025 GV80 brings further choice for customers, the majority of whom build-to-order. These include 11 exterior colours, 11 interior colours and 5 trim garnishes.

Two options are offered for 2025 GV80 and GV80 Coupe: Rear Seat Entertainment and Matte Paint.

2025 GV80 adopts a revised global tune suspension featuring bespoke settings for GV80 Coupe.

Metal brake and accelerator pedals with patterned rubber grips minimise the risk of slipping during operation while exuding a high-performance image.

Garnishes crafted from real carbon fibre and quilted Nappa leather upholstery featuring coupe-exclusive patterns and contrast stitching with matching seat belts further contribute to GV80 Coupe’s high-performance theme.

Genesis GV80 Engine and drivetrain

2025 GV80 is offered exclusively with the flagship high-performance G3.5 FR T-GDi twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre engine.

The 3,470cc petrol V6 produces 279kW and 530Nm, uses 11.7L/100km on the official combined cycle, and powers 2025 GV80 from rest to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds (5.7 seconds for GV80 Coupe).

2025 GV80 features the advanced, rear-wheel drive biased Genesis All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, which optimally distributes torque based on a range of inputs.

The multi-mode AWD system features an electronic, variable-torque-split clutch with active torque control between the front and rear axles.

Upgraded front brake calipers are now of monobloc construction, enhancing both calipr rigidity and 2025 GV80’s sporty image, and are finished in silver (SUV) and black (Coupe).

Driving Technology

Advanced driving technologies in 2025 GV80 and GV80 Coupe treat occupants to a smooth, stable and sporty drive across the spectrum of conditions. These include:

Preview Electronic Control Suspension: Pre-view ECS optimises control of the suspension by recognising the road conditions using the windscreen-mounted camera and navigation data.

Flex Brake: Features in dynamic GV80 Coupe to let the driver choose how they want the brakes to respond. Comfort mode offers comfortable, stable braking, while Sport mode provides quick response and linear braking for high-performance driving.

Engine Mounting Control Unit (EMCU): New second-generation EMCU technology detects road surfaces to reduce driving vibrations.

Crosswind Stabilisation System: Assists drivers with high-speed driving during strong wind conditions.

Drive Mode:  An Integrated Drive Mode system features a series of modes designed to best suit the driving situation: Comfort, Eco, Sport and Custom. An additional high-performance Sport+ drive mode features for GV80 Coupe.

Auto Terrain Mode: A new Auto Terrain Mode system utilises AI to assess road conditions and can then precisely control the driving force by selecting the appropriate drive mode automatically, to enhance driver convenience.

The system features Snow, Mud and Sand settings, each providing optimal torque distribution to ensure traction and performance.

An upgraded Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite in 2025 GV80 includes the following technologies:

Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2)

2025 GV80 further advances its safety suite with Highway Driving Assist 2. The system provides enhancements to the suite of features seen in Smart Cruise Control and, when activated on a highway, supports vehicle lane positioning and lane changes.

Lane Following Assist (LFA 2) w/ Hands on Detection

Utilising the windscreen-mounted camera to detect lane markings and vehicles ahead, LFA assists the driver’s steering to help keep the vehicle centred in the lane, operating at vehicle speeds from 0-200km/h.

If one or both lane markings are unclear, 2025 GV80 will create a virtual lane or follow the path of the vehicle ahead.

A Hands-On-Detection (HOD) function allows the vehicle to accurately detect when the driver is holding the steering wheel.

Remote Smart Parking Assistant 2 (RSPA 2)

Remote Smart Parking Assistant (RSPA 2) lets users manoeuvre and park 2025 GV80 remotely from outside the vehicle.

Key functionalities:

• Parking assist mode – Identifies parking space lines to assist with perpendicular, parallel and diagonal parking manoeuvres
• Collision avoidance – Can activate avoidance maneuvers based on camera image recognition as well as recognising parking completion

Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist – Front/Side/Rear (PCA-F/S/R)

Parking Collision-Avoidance-Assist (PCA-F/S/R) helps prevent low-speed collisions with pedestrians or obstacles when driving at up to 10km/h.

PCA-R uses a high-definition camera and ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles. If a potential collision is detected, the system warns the driver with visual and audible alerts and assists with braking to help prevent the collision.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA 2)

The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 system, when active, utilises the front radar sensor and windscreen-mounted camera to detect and monitor vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists in front of GV80.

If a potential collision is detected, the system’s Forward Collision Warning (FCW) function will sound a warning chime and display a warning in the instrument cluster or Head-Up Display (HUD).

Where driver intervention is not detected after a FCW system warning, the FCA system will automatically apply the vehicle’s brakes and/or engage Evasive Steering Assist to avoid or reduce the severity of a potential collision.

In addition, the junction turning/junction crossing function detects oncoming vehicles in an adjacent lane when preparing to make a right turn at a junction, as well as vehicles in a perpendicular lane when preparing to cross an intersection and, in the event a collision appears likely, applies the brakes to stop GV80.

The lane-change oncoming/lane-change side function assists through corrective steering input in the event a collision appears likely with oncoming vehicles in an adjacent lane or, in lane-change and lane-departure situations, vehicles approaching in the same direction in an adjacent lane.

In Cabin Camera (ICC)

Camera positioned on the steering column facing the driver, analysing eye movements and driver attention ensuring that the driver is focused on the road.
