Hyundai Help for Kids
Hyundai Motor Company Australia has announced a further four recipients of the philanthropic program Hyundai Help for Kids, a collaborative partnership between the 162-strong Hyundai National Dealer Network and Hyundai Motor Company Australia.

Established in January 2014 as part of Hyundai Motor Company’s global CSR program, ‘Moving the World Together’, the partnership provides grants to a range of organisations focused on delivering assistance to children and the families who support them – through sport, culture, education, health, community engagement, and social welfare initiatives.

Camp Quality, Hyundai Help for Kids Lions Academy, Life Education Australia and Redkite will receive financial and/or vehicular assistance from Hyundai Help for Kids, allowing each organisation to continue vital work supporting young Australians.

Hyundai Help for Kids

For the last 30 years Camp Quality has been supporting children with cancer, their siblings, and parents throughout their journey. It is one of Australia’s most recognised organisations and offers all programs 100% free of charge. Using education, performance, recreation, respite, and play to build optimism, resilience, and supportive networks for families, Camp Quality programs are delivered across primary schools, paediatric oncology wards, recreation facilities and homes Australia-wide.

Hyundai Help for Kids joins Camp Quality as a Proud Partner providing monetary funding to help facilitate their much needed Domestic Support Program, offering a professional home cleaning service to families.

Hyundai Help for Kids Lions Academy – formerly known as the Hyundai Lions Academy – enables the Brisbane Lions AFL club to identify and nurture local talent, with the aim of constructing a pathway for young players to realise their potential in their chosen sport and perhaps become a senior player in the future.

The academy provides a program to fast-track the development of players by delivering elite coaching, personal development, medical support and nutritional advice. There are top-line training and playing facilities, reinforced with a nurturing, leadership-driven environment.

As a Proud Partner of the Lions Academy, Hyundai Help for Kids will support their work at a grassroots level with a strong commitment to the community and to promoting sport as a key measure of young adult development.

Life Education Australia is the largest independent Australian health and drug education provider for school children aged 5-13 years. For over 35 years, this not-for-profit organisation has delivered essential curriculum-based lessons to empower children to make safer and healthier lifestyle choices.

Their aim is to educate young Australians by providing a three-way relationship between their specially trained educators, school class teachers and the home. The program delivers messages covering issues such as healthy eating, physical activity, positive communication, smoking, drugs, alcohol, cyber safety, personal safety and bullying. To date over five million children have benefited from their programs across Australia.

Hyundai Help for Kids will be the National Partner of Life Education Australia, offering financial support to assist them to continue to deliver their message to school children through the iconic Healthy Harold program and other initiatives.

Redkite provides essential support to children, teenagers, and young adults with cancer from the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and on the return home.

The Redkite promise is to listen, respect and respond to young cancer patients and their families, to provide financial, emotional and education support and complement the skills, strengths and support already in place.

The Hyundai Help for Kids grant will support young cancer patients and their families to travel to medical appointments and hospital, counselling engagements and other essential trips.

These four new Hyundai Help for Kids recipients will join existing beneficiaries AEIOU Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Alliance, John Maclean Foundation, Make-A-Wish™, Motorvation Foundation, Royal Institute for Deaf & Blind Children – Indigenous Outreach Program, Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation, Clown Doctors, Little Wings, Hyundai Goals for Grassroots and the Hyundai HyTech Donation Program.

Hyundai Help for Kids to date has raised over $1,268,000 for not-for-profit organisations supporting Australians under the age of 18, via 50:50 Hyundai and Hyundai Dealer Network contributions made from every vehicle sold in Australia from 1st January.

Since the program was launched earlier this year, Hyundai Help for Kids has received overwhelming interest from charities and organisations submitting applications. As a result, 4th Quarter 2014 applications will be the last evaluation period for the foreseeable future, while the application process is temporarily ‘on-hold’ to allow us to concentrate on supporting our existing partnerships.

A dedicated communications and resource hub for the Hyundai Help for Kids program, including a suite of social media outlets, has been established to offer connectivity points with the organisation, its partners and their work.
