Isuzu MU-X LS-T – Like a lot of families, Christmas for us was spent at a few different houses and a lot of driving. To do that we chose an Isuzu MU-X LS-T.
We went from Sydney to Wollongong, back to Sydney to Nelson Bay, Grafton then the Glasshouse Mountains and back again.
Overall, we drove some two thousand five hundred kilometres over a few weeks and here are my thoughts.
The MU-X is spacious. It fitted all our luggage and presents, food and other gear easily.
When we went for day trips it fitted five adults in comfort.
It’s just so relaxing to drive long distances. One day we drove over 850km and arrived feeling relatively fresh.
There is more than enough performance for highway cruising and its economical. We averaged 7.7 litres per 100km for the full trip.
The MU-X also comes with a few practical features like wireless smart phone connectivity, and considering we drove through torrential rain in southern Queensland the 4WD and safety features were comforting.
We all know the Isuzu MU-X is a great 4WD and towing vehicle, but its also a practical and comfortable family SUV for everyday use.

What is not so good? |

Also look at.
The Isuzu MU-X sits in a competitive segment and crosses the barrier between 4WD and SUV. .
But buyers could look at Ford Everest, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, SsangYong Rexton, Toyota Fortuner.
If towing or real 4WD adventures are not needed, then AWD SUV’s could be the way to go. Choices include: Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Kluger, Nissan Pathfinder, Mazda CX-9, Mitsubishi Outlander.
Isuzu MU-X LS-T final thoughts
There is a reason that the MU-X is a popular 4WD. It’s simply because it’s good.
With versatility to carry a family in comfort, tow a boat or caravan or head to Cape York.
But it rides and handles more like a premium SUV than a boxy 4WD.
We did over 2,500 km over our trip and the Isuzu MU-X was a comfortable companion for the journey.
