With a nod to Australia’s annual summer tennis fest, Kia Motors Australia has released a trio of Australian Open Special Editions and a champion’s version of the new Stinger.
The limited Kia AO editions of Picanto, Rio and Sportage will be joined in selected showrooms by 75 examples of the Rafa Stinger, representing each of Rafael Nadal’s 75 singles titles during his outstanding career.
Based off the 200S Stinger, the Rafa Special will add to the basic specification with 19-inch alloys, an 8-inch touchscreen for the satellite navigation system, 9-speaker entertainment system, premium brown interior, exclusive body decals including a Rafa signature, unique title number on an interior badge and an autographed Rafa tennis racquet with certificate of authenticity.
At $47,990 RRP the Rafa Signature Edition is available in Panthera Metal, Deep Chroma Blue or Aurora Black Pearl.
The Picanto AO edition introduces the GT-Line styling cues with contrasting body accents, dual exhaust tips and body kit.
It also picks up 16-inch alloys, GT-Line badging, LED position lamps and Daytime Running Lights, premium seats with red accents, premium steering wheels and gear shift knob, alloy sports pedals and six speakers. Each of the 150 available cars will also come with an AO pack consisting of a Babolat racquet, backpack and a tube of Wilson balls.
At $16,777 drive away, the 150 examples of Picanto AO are available in Clear White, Aurora Black, Titanium Silver and Signal Red.
Stepping up to the AO Sportage model, based off a Si, the value equation enters another realm. Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, satellite navigation with traffic information, dual-zone climate control, rain sensing wipers, 18-inch alloys, front parking sensors, LED daylight running lights and high beam assist all become part of the package.
There will be 360 petrol examples of the AO Sportage and 140 diesel at $31,777 and $36,777 drive away respectively. They are available in all current Sportage colours and come with racquet, backpack and balls.
The final AO Special Edition is S-based Rio which garners 17-inch alloys, steering-wheel mounted cruise control, mirror-integrated indicators plus premium steering wheel and shift knob. The 300 examples of the AO Rio are available in all current range colours at $17,777 drive away and also come with the tennis pack.
