Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD 2023 Review

EV6 GT-Line AWD –Regular listeners will know I live some 200km or so north of Sydney and to date hadn’t taken an EV there, preferring to do the testing around Sydney.

However, that changed just prior to Christmas when I took the latest Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD north.

The main reason I chose the EV6 was the range. Under all conditions you will get a minimum of 400km range and often up to 500km.

Range on an electric car is just like distance to empty on a petrol or diesel engine, except the refuelling process takes longer and requires more planning.

The closest public charging station from my home is about a 20-minute drive, it wasn’t working so the next closest one is almost an hour’s drive. there is a bank of Tesla chargers about 30 minutes away as well.

So, the option was to charge overnight.  As I had used 50% of the charge driving up the coast, the first overnight took about 20 hours and got it back to about 90% charge. From there on I plugged the  EV6 in every night to keep it topped up to 100% daily.

As mentioned in previous reviews, the EV6 is one of my favourite electric cars. It certainly attracted a lot of attention and I probably sold two of them while chatting to people about it.

The Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD is priced from $82,990 plus the usual costs

Kia EV6 sits in the middle of the available EV cars. Its mid size but spacious.
