Kia Sorento Sport Plus – Last week we drove the Kia Sorento PHEV, this week we are driving the diesel Sport Plus version and it’s interesting to experience the differences.
Perhaps the Sport plus is the sweet spot in the Sorento range with enough luxury and safety features to keep everyone happy and what it misses out on you can easily live without.
Also the 2.2L diesel engine and eight speed auto provides more than enough power and torque as well as outstanding economy. We averaged around 6-7 l/100k over the week and that is a little more than we used in the PHEV but not by much I have to say.

The interior is very comfortable with leather seats, well laid out driver instruments and central screen, plenty of storage and electronic adjustment for the driver’s seat.
Rear seats are spacious for passengers and the two fold up seats will take early teens for short trips. The luggage area is great as we found out when we put a latex king size mattress in the PHEV we had last week.
The best feature of the Sport Plus though is that it can be bought for around $59,690 drive away and that is outstanding value. The Sorento is just such an easy car to live with and own.
