Lexus ES will return to Australia with the largest model line-up in the nameplate’s 25-year history, including an all-new hybrid.
The introduction of ES 300h hybrid also marks another significant milestone for the luxury brand – the first time a Lexus hybrid vehicle will lead pricing.
Available for order from today, the all-new ES Line brings a unique combination of space, luxury and standard features to the luxury vehicle segment.
The new ES Line will launch with the choice of two transmissions and a powerful and refined 3.5-litre quad-cam V6 developing 204kW in the ES 350 or, for the first time in the history of ES, an efficient 2.5-litre hybrid drivetrain delivering 151kW in the form of ES 300h.
With a starting price of $63,000*, the all-new ES 300h Luxury features items generally reserved for much more expensive rivals as standard, including: satellite navigation#, reversing camera, eight-head parking sonar, blind spot monitor, moon roof, 10 airbags, eight-speaker Lexus premium audio, smart entry with smart start, Nanoe-enabled dual zone climate control, digital radio^, Lexus Remote Touch, Drive Mode Select and leather accented interior.
It is also the first time the hybrid pioneer has led its pricing with the all-new hybrid variant.
The ES 300h model range will also feature a top-of-the-line Sports Luxury model for $72,000*.
The Lexus ES 350 range includes Luxury and Sports Luxury variants, carrying prices of $65,000* and $74,000* respectively.
Across both powertrains, Sports Luxury models gain tri-zone climate control, HID headlamps, 15-speaker Mark Levinson Audio, heated and ventilated front seats, power boot lid, manual side sun shades, rear centre armrest-mounted controls and semi-aniline leather accented interior.
Lexus Australia chief executive Sean Hanley said that the all-new ES Line reaffirmed Lexus’ commitment to hybrid technology and the market’s move towards powerful and efficient drivetrains.
“The decision to lead ES Line pricing with hybrid is a result of higher consumer demand and the commercialisation of hybrid technology,” Mr Hanley said.
“More than 30 per cent of Lexus customers locally choose hybrid as their preferred drivetrain and we believe ES will grow that proportion as we edge ever closer to our goal of 50 per cent hybrid.
“We believe that both ES models offer a very compelling proposition to luxury vehicle buyers by combining peerless levels of comfort, space and refinement,” he said.
“Over the past seven years, luxury vehicle customers have been looking for a vehicle like ES and we are happy to welcome them to the Lexus family.”
