Since it was first released in 1989, Mazda MX-5 has brought something special to the sports car segment. The first models were simply so well balanced and while it has grown over the years, the simple roofless sport car concept is carried through in the latest GT RS Roadster which we drove

However the latest version, powered by a 135kW SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine and SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission, are an enthusiasts dream while retaining everyday functionality and comfort. GT RS models also feature a BBS forged alloy wheel design with a Brembo front brake package
Other improvements include 205/45/R17 Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres, Bilstein gas dampers and a solid alloy strut tower brace, for improved rigidity and steering response.
Alongside more focused dynamics and upgraded suspension and braking systems there is advanced connectivity and fresh exterior and interior finishes,
Priced from around $47,000 plus the usual costs it is still well within range of the everyday buyer.
