Nissan Pathfinder Ti AWD SUV Radio Review

2019 Nissan Pathfinder ST Plus (12)Like a lot of manufacturers Nissan now has an extensive range of SUVs, some which have morphed from more rugged 4WDs in the past. The Pathfinder is such a vehicle and David Brown explores if it has an identity crisis

The Nissan Pathfinder large SUV first launched here in 1987 has varied over the years between being an off roader and a soft roader.

The release of the 4th Generation model in 2013 went soft but a few upgrades since then have seen it better capable of coping with at least poorer quality roads.

A good use of space including the third row of seats which has adequate room and good accessibility.

Thankfully the 2019 upgrade now has

  • Emergency Braking
  • Collision Warning
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Now as standard

It comes with as a V6 petrol or a hybrid and a CVT gearbox that is surprisingly good.

Ranging from $46,400 to $66,400 plus on roads,

It is currently being outsold by 16 other large SUVs. I think it deserves better

David’s boyhood passion for motor cars did not immediately lead to a professional role in the motor industry. A qualified Civil Engineer he specialised in traffic engineering and transport planning. What followed were various positions including being seconded to a government think-tank for the planning of transport firstly in Sydney and then for the whole of NSW. After working with the NRMA and as a consultant he moved to being an independent writer and commentator on the broader areas of transport and the more specific areas of the cars we drive. His half hour motoring program “Overdrive” has been described as an “informed, humorous and irreverent look at motoring and transport from Australia and overseas”. It is heard on 22 stations across Australia. He does weekly interviews with several ABC radio stations and is also heard on commercial radio in Sydney. David has written for metropolitan and regional newspapers and has presented regular segments on metropolitan and regional television stations. David is also a contributor for AnyAuto
