Peugeot has released its all-new 208 range which combines style, value for money with a welcome return to Peugeot dynamic handling DNA. Priced from $18,490 RRP for the 1.2L Active, the new 208 is available in a choice of two bodystyles, three engine choices and four equipment levels.

“The all-new 208 hatch boasts a new level of functionality with its class-leading seven-inch touch screen, outstanding dynamics and world-first “heads up’’ driving position that offers a new level of safety behind the wheel,’’ says Peugeot Automobiles Australia General Manager/Director Bill Gillespie.

“With its unique exterior and interior style and strong value for money proposition the new 208 will appeal to a much broader range of buyers.

“As with many of our models, the all-new 208 comes with Peugeot’s Assured Service Plan which offers Peugeot owners capped price servicing.’’

Peugeot 208 1.2 Active

The Active 1.2-litre opens the range with an entry price of $18,490 RRP. Active models come with a substantial level of standard equipment including a 7-inch touch screen, Bluetooth and USB, body coloured mirrors, power windows with one touch function and mesh grille. Safety features include six airbags, stability and traction control, emergency brake assist, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, pre tensioning and force limiting front seat belts and automatic activation of hazard lights in an accident.

Active models also come with a 1.6-litre four cylinder engine with a four-speed automatic for $21,490.

Allure models start from $23,990 and add the 1.6-litre four cylinder engine, dual-zone climate controlled air conditioning, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, LED lights, auto lights and wipers, colour multi-function digital displays, sports seats and a leather steering wheel.

Priced from $26,490 the flagship Allure Premium models gain a premium cloth trim, glass Cielo roof with mood lighting, cornering fog lights, single chrome exhaust pipe, gloss black interior door trims, dark tinted rear windows and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Allure Sport models are three-door only and come with the 1.6-litre (115kW) turbocharged four cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission. Apart from a unique exterior styling, the Sport models also gain sport specific interior trim such as the half leather sports seats, blue lit instrument panel, aluminium gear knob and drilled sports pedals. The Sport models are easily identified from the outside with the unique front grille, dual chrome tail pipes, and rear spoiler.

The new 208 will go on sale in Australia at the Australian International Motor Show on October 19.
