RAM 1500 Laramie 2021 4WD PickUp Review

We drive the RAM 1500 on a Road Test Review

Ram 1500 – Sometimes I have a vehicle that simply feels good to drive such as the RAM 1500 Laramie Pick-Up truck I had this week.

The latest 1500 DT model was released in Mid-2021 and comes with a host of luxury, safety and technology updates that sit it firmly in the luxury SUV class.

Ram 1500 Laramie engine

Powered by a mild hybrid 5.7L Hemi V8 that produces power of 291kW and torque of 556Nm. There is a nice V8 burble as you would expect but also some innovative fuel saving technology as well. Make no mistake though this heavy Truck is thirsty.

The 12 inch vertical configurable touchscreen has intuitive split screen display capability. It is a standout feature as are the little luxuries like heated and cooled front seats, heated outer rear seats, premium sound system, 360 degree surround camera system and smart phone integration.

Space is the key to the Laramie, with huge multi-function central console bin, plenty of head room and an abundance of rear leg room, enough so that my 190cm frame sits comfortably.

The RAM 1500 Ute starts at a touch under $80,000 and goes through to just under $140,000 and actually is well priced compared to luxury SUVs without the space or practicality.

Often known for taking the 4WD in the driveway over the sports car, he has travelled pretty much everywhere in Australia and when he is bored goes for a drive. He first learned to drive on the farm in a left hand drive WW11 Jeep when he was 11, and was hooked on 4WDriving way back then.
