ŠKODA is an unusual brand, for Australia it’s not well known but produces good cars as part of the VW stable. One of their more interesting cars is the KODIAQ RS.
A seven seat sport AWD SUV that has some really clever design features.
Previously designated as a ‘hot and dusty’ climate, Australia has now been reclassified as ‘moderately hot country’, making the KODIAQ RS a reality.
The first ŠKODA SUV to bear the RS name, the KODIAQ RS is powered by a potent 176kW/500Nm 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine capable of 0-100km/h in seven seconds.
Key highlights of the sporty model are
- unique 20-inch ‘Xtreme’ alloy wheels accented by red brake calipers,
- blacked-out mirrors,
- Roof rails and grille with RS badging,
- premium leather interior with RS logo stitched in the front seat headrests, and
- ŠKODA’s high definition digital cockpit.
Clever features include
- Start button on the steering column
- Umbrella dryer in the passenger door
- Fold out door protectors when they open
- Auto opening rear boot
- Boot storage and hidden cubby holes
Priced from $65,990 plus the usual costs its actually bloody good value and enjoyable to drive.
