Chloe Fraser takes the Suzuki Kizashi AWD Sports for a drive. The Suzuki Kizashi AWD Sport 2.4L 6 Speed certainly attracts attention and is popular with the Gen ‘Y’.
Its no doubt that those sporty looks are what captures every p-plater’s attention and the new Suzuki Kizashi Sport AWD certainly made me smile at the fact that I would be cruising around in this sexy car for the next week and everyone would be jealous. I was right. All of my friends were incredibly jealous and the Rockford Fosgate stereo system pumping so loudly the seats vibrated was another sure fire grab at capturing everyone’s attention.
Suzuki has hit the nail right on the head, combining sporty looks and sleek designs with a variety colours, including the vibrant red, has made the Kizashi an eye catcher. The 10mm lowered sports suspension and the striking and assertive front bumper with lower mesh grille add to the Kizashi’s unique design. The spoiler on the rear lid adds a modern sport design, without going over the top. A double chrome exhaust pipe system at the rear ensures the snazzy design is continued throughout the entire exterior of the car, along with the 18 inch alloy wheels.
Without a doubt the highlight of the interior is the Rockford Fosgate stereo system with MP3 capability and 10 speakers boasts enough oomph to make the seats and the rear-view mirror vibrate and be heard from down the street. The use of auto-dimming technology in the rear-view mirror seems rather trivial but the benefit of not having blinding lights at night time from the cars behind is greatly appreciated and you really notice it when you drive another car.
Leather interior is also another plus, especially for teenagers who have an abundance of ‘crap’ that usually wears away at material seats. The middle panel is set out clearly and is easy to navigate your way around. The multitude of storage throughout is beneficial as it keeps everything out of the way.
Kizashi’s sunroof is one thing that went down as a big plus with my friends as were cruised around on the lovely summers days and adds to its teenage appeal. Rear seat flexibility and 10 way seating memory in the front allows everyone in the car, whose spacious cabin can easily fit 5, travel in comfort. Keyless entry is one of the latest technologies and the Kizashi has employed this, along with automatic rain sensing wipers which many take for granted. With a 461L boot capacity not only is the Kizashi all looks, but it is practical to take away for a holiday.
The AWD Kizashi Sport has a 2.4L, 6 speed engine which uses a comfortable 8.4l/100km. Power steering and cruise control allow for an effortless drive. Suzuki has jam-packed this sporty car with all the safety features a standard including an engine immobiliser, anti-theft alarm, front, side and curtain airbags, ABS, electronic brake distribution, brake assist system, vehicle stability control and traction control.
The Suzuki Kizashi starts from $39,990 + on road costs, it certainly isn’t the cheapest option on the scene, however, its the price you pay for the sports cars on the market.
