Toyota launched the all-new RAV4 early in 2019 with improved performance, safety, technology, style and refinement. Included was the first petrol electric Hybrid RAV 4.
The hybrid system combines a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor generator that drives through a CVT, providing the most powerful drivetrain in the range with combined maximum outputs of around 160kW. Hybrid versions come 2WD and AWD and in GX, GXL and Cruiser grades.
Fuel economy is excellent as you would expect at around 4.8l/100k for the AWD version.
Features include an advanced multimedia system with steering wheel controls that incorporates full Bluetooth®3 connectivity, as well as Apple Car Play and android Auto, DAB radio, satellite navigation5 wireless phone charging and voice recognition with all information displayed on a large 8-inch touchscreen.
Hybrid models start at just over $35,000 through to a bot over $44.500 for the Cruiser model plus the usual costs
