As a kid growing up I was obsessed with cars. Mainly European sport cars, but almost any car that came into my world was researched in detail. As a result of this I have a love and affinity with the now classic cars of the 60’s, 70’s and even some of the 80’s (but not many).
To someone like myself, when you mention classics like the 1968 Lamborghini Miura or a 1966 Aston Martin DB6, or even a 1971 Chrysler Valiant Regal 770 my eyes start to water and glaze over.
I could identify what make and mostly what model just by the headlights or tail lights. Yes I needed to get out more!
I just love the romance of the bygone era in automotive design and the simplicity of the cars then. Often the romance and reality are far removed though, that is why of you are contemplating buying such a classic, you need to make sure they are the best.
Just an hours drive north of Sydney is a hidden gem, a place where the teenager in everyone can be let loose again and memories of a simpler time come flooding back. When the thrill of reading about, much less seeing one of the future classic cars sent the heart beat racing.
This hidden gem is the Gosford Classic Car Museum which is packed full of such treasures. The best part is they are having an auction of some 70 superb examples of classic cars on the 28th October from 6 pm. If you wish to view the cars they have times to do just that. Viewing is on the 27th October from 11am to 8pm and on the day of the Auction from 10am to 4 pm.
Details of the auction can be found HERE
